Taste of Lemon is a classic Southern "meat and three", operated by a couple of families. Their menu is always fresh, different everyday, and delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. It's only open limited hours, so it's advisable to arrive early. Often times the best dishes sell out later in the afternoon, and parking can be an issue at the peak of the lunch rush hour. Located in what used to be a turn-of-the-century church, the ambience is very family-oriented and welcoming. Whenever I have visitors from out of town, this place never fails to disappoint.
Always the best of southern home cooking! Love this restaurant and, maybe its that it is in an old church, I feel so peaceful here. If there is a better place to eat in LaGrange, Georgia, I don't know about it.
On Sat., Oct. 28 we planned to travel from Newnan to LaGrange for the "Phantom of the Organ" concert. We wanted to have lunch at "Taste of Lemon," and shop in local shops until time for the concert. We CALLED on Fri. to make sure ToL was open, and check hours. We were assured that they were open from 10 til 2. After leaving early and traveling 30+ miles, we arrived at ToL to be informed that "they were having a private party, and CLOSED to the PUBLIC!!" Vert disappointing. NOT good for this business...or...the COMMUNITY!!
